November 3, 2023 – About 1500 Protestors took to the streets in Surrey to send a strong message to Surrey Mayor for her stand supporting the Israeli administered “Genocide” in Palestine.

According to reports from Peace arch news Surrey Mayor Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke while denouncing Hamas had said, “their crimes against humanity.”

“The events of the last 10 days have been hard and horrific to watch. The unprovoked and vicious attacks of Oct. 7 on civilian Israelis is an act of pure evil. For their heinous actions Hamas must be held accountable for their crimes against humanity,” Locke said during Monday night’s regular council meeting, Oct. 16.

“The suffering knows no borders – families in Gaza have been put in grave danger as a result of Hamas’ actions. Innocent civilians on both sides are coming under fire and every effort must be made to put them out of harm’s way.”

She further added “and I hope that Israel can neutralize the Hamas terrorists to bring a rapid end to this war.

Her comments came after a rabbi’s home was egged and defaced with a swastika in Surrey.

“We recognize that incidents of this nature impact the feeling of safety and security for members of our Jewish community,” Surrey RCMP Corp. Vanessa Munn said. “Hate has no place in our city and our officers are working to identify the person responsible so that they can be held accountable.”

The Surrey protest was part of the National Days of Action to Free Palestine. The organizers stated, ”This action in solidarity and defense of Palestine is demanding an end to the genocidal Israeli bombing of Palestinians in Gaza, where over 9,061 Palestinians have been killed by indiscriminate Israeli airstrikes, including over 3,760 children, as of November 2nd. Numbers continue to climb, and many more are unaccounted for under the rubble of homes, hospitals, schools, mosques and churches. Over 32,000 Palestinians are wounded while most hospitals have run out of fuel and 46% of hospitals are no longer able to function.”

“The world is witnessing daily crimes against humanity carried out by the racist Israeli regime. Refugee camps in both Gaza and West Bank are bombed and raided, including Jabalia refugee camp where over 195 Palestinians were killed by airstrikes this week. Over 57 health-care facilities in Gaza have been bombed since October 7, including Al-Ahli hospital which massacred an estimated 500 to over 1000 Palestinians,” stated Rafif Habob of the Palestinian Youth Movement – Vancouver.

The Protest in Surrey highlighted what many experts say is an ongoing systematic genocide happening in the Israeli occupied Palestine.

On 14 October 2023 – A UN human rights expert warned that Palestinians are in grave danger of mass ethnic cleansing and called on the international community to urgently mediate a ceasefire between warring Hamas and Israeli occupation forces.

“The situation in the occupied Palestinian territory and Israel has reached fever pitch,” said Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967.

“There is a grave danger that what we are witnessing may be a repeat of the 1948 Nakba, and the 1967 Naksa, yet on a larger scale. The international community must do everything to stop this from happening again,” the UN expert said.3

“Israel has already carried out mass ethnic cleansing of Palestinians under the fog of war,” the expert said. “Again, in the name of self-defence, Israel is seeking to justify what would amount to ethnic cleansing.

“Any continued military operations by Israel have gone well beyond the limits of international law. The international community must stop these egregious violations of international law now, before tragic history is repeated. Time is of the essence. Palestinians and Israelis both deserve to live in peace, equality of rights, dignity and freedom,” Albanese said.
